Wow, the incident rates are shocking! It is so sad that the population of children with disabilities receive such maltreatment.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the incident rates are so high due to the lack of knowledge the people caring for the children with special needs have.
I know that I feel frustrated and mad when I don’t have the experience or knowledge needed to perform a task…I am more irritable when I don’t understand what I am doing. Maybe caregivers are becoming more vulnerable to abuse because they simply don’t know what they are doing. I just wonder if more support was provided to educate and train families and caregivers if these incident rates would be lower.
I agree... In a lot of these instances I am wondering who is being held accountable???
ReplyDeleteI feel there are many factors that are attributing to these factors. It's sad but it's very true.
